Terms of Service (Groypin)

By creating an account, accessing, joining, browsing, or using Groypin’s apps, websites, or APIs (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (and 16+ in the EEA/UK). You represent you are legally permitted to use the Service where you live.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes the organization.
Groypin lets people create and join maps/communities (public or private), place pins, post messages/media, and participate with roles (e.g., owner/admin/mod/member). We may add, remove, change, or discontinue features at any time.
Security / Encryption
We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls, role-based permissions, and server-side protections. Data is transmitted using secure transport protocols (such as TLS). We do not provide end-to-end encrypted messaging. No system is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and be cautious with what you share.
If we introduce end-to-end encrypted messaging in the future, we will update these Terms and/or our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for all activity on your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and devices. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may refuse, reclaim, or remove usernames, display names, profiles, or accounts that impersonate others, mislead, violate these Terms, or create risk.
“Your Content” includes pins, locations, coordinates, addresses, map titles/descriptions, posts, messages, media, profile information, and anything you submit or create through the Service.
You retain ownership of Your Content as between you and Groypin.
You grant Groypin a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, modify (for formatting/technical delivery only), display, perform, distribute, and otherwise use Your Content solely to:
Visibility:
You are responsible for choosing appropriate visibility settings and for what you share. Do not share passwords, financial information, or highly sensitive personal details in messages, since messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
You agree not to, and not to encourage others to:
Location information is sensitive. Pins, coordinates, and map activity can reveal precise geolocation and real-world behavior patterns.
Residential and private locations: You agree you will not pin, label, or discuss a private residence (including apartments, dorm rooms, private homes, or any location where a private individual lives) without explicit permission of the occupant/owner.
To protect safety and platform compliance, Groypin may implement additional safeguards, including:
We may remove or restrict content that creates safety risk, even if it might not violate a specific law.
Reporting: Users can report pins, comments, messages, and accounts. We may also review content proactively or in response to signals/complaints.
Our rights: We may, at any time and in our sole discretion:
No obligation to publish: You have no right to require us to host, publish, or keep any content.
Repeat offenders: Repeat violations may result in permanent bans, including device/account bans.
Map/community owners/admins/mods may set and enforce local rules, approve membership, and moderate within their communities.
Groypin may enforce these Terms across the platform regardless of local rules. If local rules conflict with these Terms, these Terms control.
Groypin is an online platform. We do not run background checks and do not guarantee who users are. Use caution in real-world interactions. You are solely responsible for your conduct, meetups, and decisions.
Groypin owns the Service, software, design, and trademarks. You may not copy, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from our code or brand except as permitted by law or with written permission.
If you believe your IP was infringed, email support@groypin.com with: your contact info, the work claimed, the location/URL in Groypin, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
We may use third-party providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, anti-abuse, email delivery, DNS/CDN). Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for third-party sites, content, or services you access through links on Groypin.
Map tiles, geocoding, routing, and address data may come from third parties and are subject to their terms, attribution requirements, and usage limits.
No guarantees: Map data may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or incorrectly placed. You agree not to rely on Groypin for emergency response, safety-critical navigation, legal boundaries, or determining property ownership/rights.
We may cache or store map-related results as needed to operate the Service, consistent with our providers’ requirements and our Privacy Policy.
Groypin may offer paid features. If we do, we will post pricing and payment terms. Taxes may apply. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
We may suspend or discontinue the Service (or portions of it) for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or business reasons.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion, subject to our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms or if your activity creates risk for users, Groypin, or third parties.
Survival: Sections relating to license grants, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and dispute terms survive termination.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROYPIN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT (INCLUDING LOCATION/ADDRESS DATA) IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
GROYPIN DOES NOT ENDORSE USER CONTENT AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USER CONTENT OR USER CONDUCT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROYPIN WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE.
GROYPIN’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID GROYPIN IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Groypin and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from:
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
You agree that courts located in Atlanta, Georgia have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, except where arbitration applies as stated below.
Arbitration: Most disputes must be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis; no class actions. You may opt out within 30 days of account creation by emailing support@groypin.com.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. No waiver is effective unless in writing.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or asset sale.
